Like all online services, there are some rules that we urge you to follow while browsing, applying, logging in, and adding information to the Application Portal and its sub-domains (collectively called the Application Portal). The Terms of Use (this document, the "Agreement" or "Terms of Use") also lays down principles that govern your use of third-party services like payment gateways, analytics, and other online third-party services. Please read these Terms of Use carefully before using the services offered or information displayed by Us. This Agreement sets forth the legally binding terms and conditions for your use of the Application Portal, and the services owned and operated by UWC on the Application Portal.
The following terminology applies to these Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy and Disclaimer Notice and all Agreements:
- "UWC India", "We", "Our" and "Us", refers to the United World Colleges Committee (India).
Acceptance
- By accessing and browsing the Application Portal you agree and accept these Terms of Use as set forth below. If at any time, you feel uncomfortable with the terms in this Agreement, you should stop using the Application Portal. For any questions, you can get in touch with Us at applications@uwccommindia.net. UWC India and affiliates shall be collectively referred to as “UWC and affiliates”. This Terms of Use shall be referred and read together with Privacy Policy and Refund Policy of the Application Portal.
- These Terms of Use apply to every user of the Application Portal. In addition, some services offered through the Application Portal may be subject to additional terms and conditions adopted by the UWC India. Your use of those services is subject to those additional terms and conditions, which are incorporated into these Terms of Use by this reference.
- We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms of Use by posting the updated terms on Application Portal. It is your responsibility to check the Terms of Use periodically for any changes. Your continued use of Application Portal following the posting of any changes to the Terms of Use constitutes automatic acceptance of those changes.
- We reserve the right to change, suspend, or discontinue Application Portal (including, but not limited to, the availability of any feature, database, services or content) or any part thereof, at any time for any reason. We may also impose limits on certain features and services or restrict your access to parts or all of the services of Application Portal without notice or liability.
Use of this Application Portal
This Application Portal is provided to you for the Service offered for your personal use subject to these terms. By using this Application Portal you agree to be bound by these terms. You are responsible for ensuring that all persons who access this Application Portal through your internet connection are aware of these terms of this Agreement and that they comply with them.
Our liability
- The Application Portal may provide content from other internet websites or resources and while we try to ensure that material included on the Application Portal is correct, reputable and of high quality, we do not make any warranties or guarantees in relation to that content. If we are informed of any inaccuracies in the material on the Application Portal, we will attempt to correct the inaccuracies as soon as we reasonably can. If we are in breach of these Terms, we will only be responsible for any losses that you suffer as a result to the extent that they are a foreseeable consequence to both of us at the time you use this Application Portal. Our liability shall be limited to ensuring that (i) the service on the Application Portal is available at all times and (ii)all third-party services integrated are properly scrutinised and shall not in any event include business losses such as lost data, lost profits or business interruption.
- Commentary and other materials posted on this Application Portal are not intended to amount to advice on which reliance should be placed. We shall not be liable for any losses that may be incurred by you or any visitor to this Application Portal or by anyone who may be informed of any of its contents as a result of any reliance placed on such materials.
User Rules of Conduct
By using this Application Portal, you represent that you have read, accepted and are bound by the conditions contained in this Agreement. To assist the smooth functioning of this Application Portal, We expect users of Application Portal to follow these few basic guidelines (which form part of the terms and conditions for access and use of Application Portal) as are acceptable for a user policy:
- Unless with Our prior written permission, no part of Application Portal may be reproduced or transmitted to or stored in any other website, nor any of its pages or part thereof be disseminated in any electronic or non-electronic form, nor included in any public or private electronic retrieval system or service.
- Any other use or modification of the content of the Application Portal without Our prior written authorisation is prohibited. Use of contact information provided on the Application Portal for unauthorized purposes, including marketing is prohibited. Any use intended to impede with the working of the Application Portal or to intercept any information from the Application Portal is prohibited.
- You shall not amend, republish, distribute, reproduce, adapt or modify any of the materials on the Application Portal or use any of the materials for public performance or otherwise make commercial use of Application Portal or any materials located on it without Our prior written consent.
- You cannot upload on the Application Portal or submit any content or otherwise distribute or publish through the Application Portal any matter or material which is or may be considered abusive, pornographic, illegal, defamatory, obscene, racist, threatening, harassing, deceptive, fraudulent, tortious; or which is otherwise unlawful, offensive, profane, or invasive of another's privacy or designed to cause disruption to any computer systems or network. We shall be entitled without liability whatsoever, to the user and at Our discretion to remove any such content from our server immediately.
- You shall not directly or indirectly: (i) decipher, decompile, disassemble, reverse engineer, or otherwise attempt to derive any source code or underlying ideas or algorithms of any part of Application Portal; (ii) modify, translate, or otherwise create derivative works of any part of the Application Portal; or (iii) copy, rent, lease, distribute, or otherwise transfer any of the rights that you receive hereunder. You shall abide by all applicable local, state, national, and international laws and regulations.
- We reserve and retain the right or ability to remove the availability or ability of participants to post comments in the event of any breach of these acceptable use provisions.

Most interactive Application Portals use cookies to let Us retrieve the user's details for each visit. License
Unless stated otherwise, We own the intellectual property rights for all material on UWC India's Application Portal. All the contents, documents, information and database included on the Application Portal, including without limitation to such as text, graphics, images, logos, button icons, images, audio clips, video clips, digital downloads, data compilations, source code, reprographics, demos, patches, other files and software, is owned, controlled or licensed by or to Us and may be protected as copyright, database rights, trade mark, intellectual property law and other proprietary rights. All intellectual property rights are reserved. You may access these intellectual property from Application Portal subject to restrictions set in these terms and conditions.
Nothing on the Application Portal or your use of any of the services shall be construed as conferring any licence or other rights under the intellectual property or other proprietary rights of UWC India, or any third party, whether implied or otherwise, save as expressly provided.
Please note that you cannot:
- Republish material from Application Portal.
- Sell, rent or sub-license material from Application Portal.
- Reproduce, duplicate or copy material from Application Portal.
- Redistribute content from Application Portal.
Hyperlinking to our content
You may link to our home page, to publications or to other Application Portal information so long as the link:
- is not in any way deceptive;
- does not falsely imply sponsorship, endorsement or approval of the linking party and its products and/or services; and
- fits within the context of the linking party's site.
You may hyperlink to Application Portal as follows:
- By use of Our corporate name; or
- By use of the uniform resource locator being linked to; or
- By use of any other description of Application Portal being linked to that makes sense within the context and format of content on the linking party's site.
No use of United World Colleges Committee (India)'s logo or other artwork will be allowed for linking. Without prior approval and written permission, you may not create frames around our Webpages that alter in any way the visual presentation or appearance of our Application Portal.
User Rule for Submitting an Application
Students
Your application is subject to you agreeing to the following terms. By applying, you accept to comply with the rules stated in this Agreement.
- Application is open to all natural persons born between June 1, 2007 and September 30, 2009, and who are interested in applying to any of the United World Colleges. Applicants who fall slightly outside of this age range but have exceptional applications may be considered. The decision to admit such candidates will be at the sole discretion of the UWC India Committee and their decision will be final.
- Only one application can be made in a year
- You agree to not withhold or misrepresent material facts. If you have misrepresented facts, UWC India reserves the right to disqualify your application without giving any prior notice.
- You acknowledge that the essays/assignments are your original work and you have not copied them from another source or generated them using AI tools. If your essays/assignments are found to be the work of someone else or have been generated using AI, such applications may be immediately disqualified.
- Application constitutes a financial agreement between you and the United World Colleges Committee (India). A non-refundable application fee will be charged at the time of application. The UWC Committee India has the right to change the application fee without prior notice.
- The application process requires you to give us personal information, along with information about your parents and teachers. Please ensure that:
- You have taken the required permission from your teacher and parents before nominating them.
- The nominated teacher has agreed to receiving notification emails from UWC India.
- Your parents have agreed to receiving notification emails from UWC India.
- You agree to receiving notification emails and text messages on the email ID and mobile number that you have entered at the time of application.
- Once you have submitted your application, you will not be able to change any detail.
- Please note that you are responsible for your application. Your application will not be considered if your teacher / parent do not fill the required details. While our systems may send timely reminders to teachers and parents, you accept that it is your duty to follow up with the respective party to complete their part.
Teachers / Principals (teachers)
- Application is only open to teachers who have been nominated by students.
- The nomination is non-transferable. If you have been nominated and are unable to accept the nomination, you are requested to reject the invitation.
- By registering and by accessing the Application Portal, you accept to comply with the terms of this Agreement.
- By registering and by accessing the Application Portal, you accept to receiving notification emails and or SMS on your registered email or mobile number.
- You agree to evaluate a student without any bias.
- You agree to verify all details before submitting an evaluation.
Parents
- Application is only open to parents who have been nominated by students.
- By registering and by accessing the Application Portal, you accept to comply with the terms of this Agreement.
- By registering and by accessing the Application Portal, you accept to receiving notification emails and or SMS on your registered email or mobile number.
- You agree to not withhold or misrepresent material facts. If you have misrepresented facts, UWC India reserves the right to disqualify your application without giving any prior notice.
- When you submit your form, even if it is not explicitly stated, you acknowledge that you have given your consent for applying to UWC India.
Reviewers
- Application is only open to persons who have been requested by UWC India to become reviewers/readers.
- By registering and by accessing the Application Portal, you accept to comply with the terms of this Agreement.
- By registering and by accessing the Application Portal, you accept to receiving notification emails and or SMS on your registered email or mobile number.
- You agree to evaluate a student without any bias.
- You agree to verify all details before submitting an evaluation.
Submission of essays/assignment
You agree not to upload any material which:
- Is written by or belongs to another person.
- Is blasphemous, seditious, indecent, immoral, abusive, offensive, and against the applicable laws; is libellous and/or is contrary to any law in force or offends the sentiments of any cast, creed, sect, gender or religion
- Is grossly harmful, harassing, defamatory, obscene, pornographic, paedophilic, invasive of another's privacy, hateful, or racially, ethnically objectionable, disparaging, relating or encouraging money laundering or gambling, or otherwise unlawful in any manner whatsoever;
Such applications will be disqualified immediately, without any prior notice
Other important clauses
- The UWC India Application Portal ("Platform"/"Portal") is being provided on an "as-is" basis without any express or implied warranties including, but not limited to, implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the Platform/Portal will always be safe, secure or error-free or that the Platform/Portal will always function without disruptions, delays or imperfections. We are not responsible for the actions, content, information, or data of third parties, and you release Us, Our affiliates and Our respective governors, directors, officers, employees, and agents from any claims and damages, known and unknown, arising out of or in any way connected with any claim you have against any such third parties.
- We are entitled to invalidate the application of a student in the event of any fraud, dishonesty, misdemeanour, coercion or breach of any of the terms set our herein in this Agreement
- In the event you make it to the shortlisted students, you agree to make yourself available for in-person interviews at the UWC Mahindra College campus or any other location, or online mode, as decided by UWC India.
Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless UWC India, and each of Us and Our affiliates’ employees, contractors, directors, suppliers, and representatives from all liabilities, claims, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees and other legal costs, that arise from or relate to your use or misuse or an unlawful or negligent act or omission of, or access to, the Application Portal and content, or otherwise from your user submissions; violation of the Terms of Use; or infringement by you, or any third party using your account, of any intellectual property or other right of any person or entity. We reserve the right to assume the exclusive defence and control of any matter otherwise subject to indemnification by you, in which event you will assist and cooperate with UWC India in asserting any available defences. You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless UWC India towards any loss, damage, cost, etc., that may be suffered by Us arising out of any third party claims of whatsoever nature in respect of the information uploaded by you on the Application Portal.
Electronic Delivery, Notice Policy, And Your Consent
By using Application Portal, you consent to receive from UWC India all communications including notices, agreements, legally required disclosures, or other information in connection with the Application Portal (collectively, "Contract Notices") electronically. UWC India may provide the electronic Contract Notices by posting them on the Application Portal. If you desire to withdraw your consent to receive Contract Notices electronically, you must discontinue your use of the Application Portal.
Entire Agreement
These Terms of Use and other referenced material are the entire agreement between you and UWC India with respect to the Application Portal, and supersede all prior or contemporaneous communications and proposals (whether oral, written or electronic) between you and UWC India with respect to Application Portal and govern the future relationship.
The Terms of Use are personal to you, and are not assignable, transferable, or sub-licensable by you except with Our prior written consent. We may assign, transfer, or delegate any of its rights and obligations hereunder without consent. No agency, partnership, joint venture, or employment relationship is created as a result of the Terms of Use and neither party has any authority of any kind to bind the other in any respect. In any action or proceeding to enforce rights under the Terms of Use, the prevailing party will be entitled to recover costs and attorneys' fees. All notices under the Terms of Use will be in writing and will be deemed to have been duly given when received, if personally delivered or sent by certified or registered mail, return receipt requested; when receipt is electronically confirmed, if transmitted by facsimile or e-mail; or the day after it is sent, if sent for next day delivery by recognized overnight delivery service.
Applicable law - Severability
These Terms of Use are governed by the Indian Law. The courts in Mumbai have exclusive jurisdiction in relation to any claim or action arising out of, or in connection with, the Terms of Use.
If any provision of these Terms of Use is held by a court to be illegal, invalid or unenforceable, such provision shall, as to such jurisdiction only, be deemed severable and ineffective to the extent of such invalidity or unenforceability and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
